A new AMC Show titled “Dark Winds” based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn And Chee book series has been out for a week and the reviews are off the charts, so much so that with just the first 2 episodes out on the first week, the series was renewed for another season by the network.
The series focuses on two Navajo Police Officers set in the 1970s Southwest who encounter a case of double homicide but it more than meets the eye and that is the crux of this psychological thriller.
The cast has been applauded for their acting and the show has been backed by creators that have a very high reputation, from the executive producers being George R.R. Martin (Game Of Thrones) to Robert Redford (Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid).
Created by Graham Roland who also created Jack Ryan alongside Carlton Cuse, the series packs a punch with its gritty storyline but also stays honest and authentic to its Native American roots as the writer’s room is all Native American.
The series is going to have 6 Episodes and it has been renewed for the second season of 6 Episodes as well which will air in 2023. The series has gotten 100% on RottenTomatoes and a good 7.9 on IMDB, with critics praising the actors and the cinematography.
Now coming to season 2, Dark Winds is renewed for season 2 and it is confirmed now that the Dark Wind Season 2 will come super soon on AMC, the official release date is expected to be around Early 2024.
You can stream the series on AMC+ and Amazon Prime Video.
