Brittanee Drexel Real Story: The new ABC Documentary “20/20: The Darkest Night” tells the story of Brittanee Drexel, a name that is now quite familiar to the masses because a long investigation has now come to a proper end and the police have found the culprit for what happened to the 17-year-old Junior at Gates Chili High School.
From her sudden disappearance without a trace on April 22, 2009, to the Police finding her remains and then connecting them to the culprit in May 2022 the investigation went on for quite some time.
Brittanee Drexel was a junior at Gates Chili High School and was considered to be a very lively girl by her friends and family. She was also part of the High School Soccer Team and was very athletic.
After not getting permission from her parents to go to Spring Break, she lied to her parents and still went to Spring Break which her boyfriend was aware of, and informed the family after Brittanee stopped texting & calling him.
After that, the parents involved the Police and didn’t find the body but found traces in an alligator swamp. After some new developments in 2016, the Police announced that Brittanee was kidnapped, gang-raped & murdered and the body was dumped into the swamp.
It isn’t until 2022 that the real culprit who had been under the suspicion came to light who was Raymond Moody who confessed to the crime and then led them to where the body was buried. Raymond Moody is a convicted sex offender who was sentenced to 23 years in Prison for the rape of a 9-year-old girl. It was his and Brittanee’s cell phone data that matched both of them at the same location at the same time.
Now, that Police have him in their custody, he’s going to appear in court in October 2022.
