Army Of The Dead (Netflix) Review: I was waiting for the film since the announcement, the name, the trailer and the plot was enough to make this movie one of the much-awaited Hollywood films ever. The film released a few days back in cinema halls and now the movie released on the Netflix ott platform. I just finished the film and here are the positives and negatives of the film.

The movie stars Dave Bautista in the main lead role along with Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, and Matthias Schweighöfer in crucial and supporting roles. The movie also stars Indian Actress Huma Qureshi. The movie is created and directed by Zack Snyder. The movie is approx 2 Hours and 20 Minutes long and available on Netflix in Hindi and English audio along with the subtitles. There is skin Show at the beginning of the film and many brutal killings so the film is not suitable to watch with an Indian family.

Plot

The movie is about the city Las Vegas, A Part of which was attacked by the Zombies, A team decides to enter into the quarantine zone (fully packed with Zombies) to take away almost 200 Million dollars from a casino, The team is a reunion of Zombie Fighters and they decide to enter the Zone for Money. They enter the zone and as expected they were now in between the millions of Zombies, would they able to bring that money and save their lives? if yes how? to know this you have to watch the full movie on Netflix.

Performances

The film is full of sequences of gunshots, Killings, and Blood, actors don’t have much to show in terms of the expression, but Bautista (in the role of Scott) looks good during the emotional sequences with her daughter, his dialogue delivery was good and he looks huge. Ella Purnell was decent in the role of Kate and she looks decent during the emotional sequences, I liked Matthias Schweighöfer most, he adds the flavor of comedy into this zombie heist, his comic timing was great and he never fails to make us laugh even with his normal conversations. Ana de la Reguera looks good and her chemistry with Scott was the surprising thing to watch. The rest of the other cast was good.

Analysis

Big Budget, Actions Sequences are not enough to make a great film, You need a great story too and this was missing here, we are 2021 and the plot of Snyder’s Army Of The Dead is from the 90s, there is nothing special in the film’s story, the story is one of most clear cut stories I had ever seen, The editing of the film also lacks a few places, the seem little stretchy during the middle, the music is amazing you would feel the vibe of it. There are few amazing sequences too, there is the scene where the Team enters into the Casino slowly by crossing a room full of sleep Zombies, it was hell gripping and I liked it the most. The fight sequence in the casino main hall was a little weird but they were entertaining, Batista was Mr. 360 there and he was killing the zombies all around him and no one even comes near to him.

The locations of the film were brilliant and this was the best part of the film, the VFX was amazing except that helicopter crash scene in the climax.
