Yes,  the story is taken from author Ann Rule’s 1993 book A Rose for Her Grave and Other True Cases, the story is about Randy Roth a mechanic from Washington who was accused of killing his two wives, he married Cynthia in 1990.

After a few months Cynthia got tired of her husband because of her dominating behavior, and after some time when they went rafting Cynthia drowned due to lack of evidence police were not able to arrest Randy at that time, but after collecting some evidence and taking confessions from his living victims they were able to arrest him later.
