The character of ‘Ram Chandwani’ is said to be inspired by the real-life character of ‘Ram Jethmalani.; Ram Jethmalani, one of the most powerful Sindhi lawyers in India, fought many cases in his career, like the famous Nanavati case where Ram Ahuja was murdered, and he also fought the case of Aasaram Bapu.
In the movie, the name is shown as Ram Chandwani. In real life, the lawyer’s name is Ram Jethmalani. Aasaram Bapu had a team of 44 strong lawyers, but no one was able to save him. In the end, truth won. Ram Jethmalani attended very few court sessions.
Ram Jethmalani fought many big cases because he was the biggest lawyer in India, and when he was young, everyone believed that this guy is capable of winning any case. In the movie, Ram Chandwani got failed against a very simple lawyer. When Ram Chandwani entered the movie, it shook the whole of Jodhpur. Ram Jethmalani died in Sept. 2019
In fact, the character of Solanki played by Manoj also got scared that how he’ll be able to fight against such a big lawyer. But he proved himself right and defeated Ram Chandwani in arguments.
