Cirkus Movie Review (Circus): RSP Productions led by Rohit Shetty who does not need an introduction has come with his signature style which is comedy in the form of Cirkus which made its debut at the box office today and will be subjected to a trial that will be judged by the audience so this upcoming weekend is crucial for the movie.

However, the prediction based on the advanced booking does not look good for the movie. Anyways, the film has been officially released with a stellar cast but does it pack a punch, like a Rohit Shetty film?

Well, in short NO. The film works like a comedy of errors which is the original work on which the film is based. It is based on a couple of twins that get interchanged in the name of proving a theory that it is not the bloodline of a person but the upbringing that defines what he/she is today and in doing that, one fateful day those twins happen to be in the same city and thus, the riot ensues.

There are very few moments that make you laugh which is the only thing you expect from an RSP Film. The actors have been used quite well but that ensemble does work together to give us a good comedy of errors but laugh, no.

The actors have done their roles quite well and the comedians, namely Siddarth Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Vrajesh Hirjee, and Tiku Talsania. Ranveer brings his charm to his double role quite well but other than that, the film is quite dull and it does not keep you gripped enough for the laughter.

The first half itself is so dull that it hardly makes any impact, however, the second half does get successful in pulling out a few but overall, in a 138 minutes film, this is a let-down. Something that has been overdone in the film is the VFX so much so that it looks artificial at some point.

However, what doesn’t disappoint in the film is the cameo of Deepika, not as Meenamma but as Vrinda, Ranveer’s character’s childhood friend in Ooty.

The music, however, is a totally different story. It is spot-on, catchy, and the only thing about the film that does not bore you for one bit. There’re not many songs in the film which is a good thing but their placement suits the condition.

Final Verdict: 2/5

“Cirkus is very dull, overly aesthetic, and fails to give you what was promised on a major scale.”
