There are rumors that the Korean remake and adaptation rights of PARASYTE are sold by the makers and we can expect a live-action Korean series based on this very popular anime.
Parasyte is penned and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki. There are already live-action movie adaptations are already been released. Madhouse adapted the manga into anime which is titled “Parasyte The Maxim”.
The anime aired from October 2014 to March 2015. The Manga of Parasyte has sold over 24 million copies worldwide.
Famous Korean actors Koo Kyo Hwan and Jeon So-nee are in talks to play the lead. As per the sources, both might agree to do this K-Drama and if everything goes well, the show can go on floors very soon. The tentative title of this Korean adaptation of Parasyte is THE GRAY as of now. However, this can be changed anytime since this is only a working title.
The Japanese live-action movies of Parasyte topped the charts at Box-Office in the first few release weeks and gained positive reviews mostly. The Japanese movies starred Shota Sometani, Eri Fukatsu, Sadao Abe, Ai Hashimoto, and Masahiro Higashide in lead roles.
If this show gets a Korean Adaptation, we can definitely hope for a very good Korean version of the show.
