Vikram Vedha Review: In this time of Remakes, it’s no news that we have one of the biggest remakes of this year which is none other than the Tamil Superhit “Vikram Vedha” that has been remade in Hindi by the director duo Pushkar & Gayatri who are known for their technical finesse as we can clearly see in the original Vikram Vedha.
The real question is, is it like the same other lousy remakes that we’ve seen before or is it even better that we’ve never seen. Well, it’s not super-duper great but it’s not too bad as well. The Hrithik-Saif starrer is a decent, entertainer with the same amount of finesse the directors had put in the original.
Strong Points
Story
However, the story of the film has been infused with the folklore of “Betaal Pachchisi” same as the original, we’re aware of the story already but the directors have done their best in infusing the story in the backdrop of Lucknow along with the accents as well. The story has been adapted into the locality really well and that works.
Cinematography
The film has been shot beautifully and infuses the Lucknow surrounding really well with the action and escape sequences really well which is quite the USP of the director duo.
Screenplay
The film moves in a non-linear motion and it’s not that hard to follow throughout. With justified character introductions and an easily understood story, what we get is an ensemble of different characters working together to make a pretty decent story that works.
Weak Points
Placement of song
The film moves with a nice pace with a runtime of 160 minutes but the placement of songs, specifically “Alchoholia” felt like it was pushed in and the Hrithik item song, however electrifying it may be, feels like its placed wrongly in between.

Music
The film’s music works for the whole film but its not that much over the top that we were expecting from a film that seems larger than life and is about a philosophical battle between good and evil. If you keep this in mind, you realize that you want more from the soundtrack which you get, but not in great amount.
Final Verdict: 3/5
Vikram Vedha is an electrifying remake that works and has that X-Factor you need from a thriller. The leads have done their roles tremendously and it’s a very good remake, indeed.
