Sherni Movie Review: Prime Video original film Shermi Just released on the platform, I just finished the film and here I am with the review of the film, It looks like Vidya Balan failed to get the good script this time, the film roars less and bores you more, check the detailed review of the film, I am going to talk about performances, plot and few more details about the film.

The movie stars Vidya Balan, Vijay Razz, Bijendra Kala in main lead roles, the film is now available on Amazon Prime Video in Hindi audio with subtitles. The movie is safe to watch with family, the film is based on the true story of Maharastra where a maneater Tigress Avni was killed. Let’s Jump to the review of the film.

Story

The story is about saving the villagers from a man-eater tigress, DFO Vidya wants to rescue the tigress, while the local politicians are using it for the sake of their politics. Will Vidya able to save the villagers or the Tigress would be killed by Politicians and hunters for their benefit, to know the full story you have to watch the full film on Amazon Prime Video.

Performances

Vidya Balan looks decent in her role as Vidya (A DFO Officer), she looks a little down as compare to her previous roles like in Shakuntla Devi. She is a brilliant actress no doubt, but this time She is less expressive, her dialogue delivery looks weak and, I think this one is one of her weakest performances till date, She struggles during the dialogues that need a strong tone. Vijay Raj and Bijendra Kala were brilliant, Vijay Raaz has nothing much to do, but he is brilliant in his role, Bijendra Kala Looks funny and his comic timing and dialogue delivery as amazing as always.

Sharat Saxena as a hunter is brilliant, his body language, his dialogue deliver everything was up to the mark, he looks genuine and realistic. Satyakan Anand was Good in the role of PK (a local Politician). Neeraj Kabi and Mukul Chadda were good in their short cameos. The movie is average in terms of performance.

Analysis

Firstly, I think don’t think this story needs a film, A Documentary would be better. The film is very slow, very predictable, and has nothing much to offer. This a film based on Tigeress and there is not even a single closeup frame of the tiger in the whole film, the tiger is a man-eater and again there is not even a single closeup where Tigeress kills the humans. The film is very long, the editing is decent, the dialogues are okay. The story looks very much predictable from the beginning, there is no thrill even at the climax, the film is very long and you feel like you are watching a documentary.

The screenplay is very weak, the locations are amazing and the Jungle scenes were amazing, the music is decent and the title track of the film was good. There were many scenes that were not needed at all, the family meeting of Vidya was just added to make the movie long, I am still confused why these sequences were added.

Overall

I am going with 1.5 out of 5 stars for the film, Skip it. The movie has nothing much to offer, the movie is dull and it never engages you. If you still want to watch it, you can watch it as a documentary, if you are a fan of Vidya Balan, you can watch the film on Amazon Prime Video. The movie is family-friendly and approx 2 hours and 30 Minutes Long.
