Shakeela Movie Review: The Dirty Picture Was a massive hit and after that, there was a wave of biopics, now another movie based on the life of an actress of a south Indian film industry titled as Sahkeela now released into the theatres, and here in the post we are going to review the movie.
The movie stars Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadda Ester Noronha, and Rajeev Pillai, the movie is created by Sammy Nanwani while music is created by Meet Bros, the movie is released in all major languages. let’s jump to the review.
Plot
The movie is based on the life of a South Indian superstar actress Shakeela who mostly works in B Grade films, the film is all about her, the film tells us, how a middle-class girl becomes the sensation of industry, how she rules over the heart of millions and what were the challenges she faced into her career, the film also shows the black truth of film industry and also show us how the industry works and how new age actors are treated, to know the full story you have to watch the full movie into the theatres.
Performances
I am a huge Pankaj Tripathi Fan and this is the first time I was disappointed, he was so brilliant in Criminal Justice Season 2, and watching him like this in the movie was so painful, on the other hand, Richa Chadda was average too, she looks hot in the movie is this is the only plus point from her character, both Pankaj Tripathi and Richa Chadda were below average. When the main lead characters perform like this, what can we expect from the supporting actors, they were dull and soulless and there is not even s single spark in the movie.
Screenplay & Others
The weakest part of the movie is the plot and screenplay, the movie is very predictable, a poor girl comes out, she faces trouble, she gets famous and in the end, you know what would happen, the trailer was so open that everyone can understand the whole movie, still i was expecting some hidden things but movie had nothing like that, the movie is just simple drama and has nothing to thrill you, editing is another major issue of the movie, the movie is so long and as it is predictable it becomes boring.
The locations were good and the music was decent, I liked the way the movie had shown the south Indian culture.
Overall
I am going with the 2 out of 5 stars for the movie, I was expecting much more from it by looking at the star cast but I was hugely disappointed, the movie is now released into the cinema halls and would be soon available on OTT platforms.
