Sanak Movie Review: I love Vidyut Jammwal so much and I am a huge fan of his real action sequences and this is the reason why I started watching the film Sanak. I just completed the film and here I am going to tell my review of the film, I will talk about the positives, negatives and a few more points about the film.

The movie was released on Hotstar on 15th October 2021 as a direct OTT release, the film stars Vidyut Jammwal in the main lead role along with Rukmini Maitra as the female lead, the film also stars Neha Dhupia and Chandan Roy Sanyal in crucial roles, the movie is a remake of Hollywood movie John Q. The film is written by Asish Prakan Verma and directed by Kanish Verma. The film is produced by Vipul Amrutal Sah, who also produced the films like Commando series and others. Let’s jump to the review.

Story

The story of the film is very clear and open and it was clear from the trailer itself, The film revolves around a couple Vivan and Anshika, Anshika is being treated in the hospital, and some terrorist attack on the hospital for their personal benefit. Vivaan who is an MMA trainer decided to save his wife and other staff of the hospital, will he be able to do that? if yes how? to know this, You have to watch the full movie on hotstar.

Performances

Now coming to the performances, Vidyut was so good and I must say he has improved himself a lot. He was so brilliant during his action sequences like always but the surprise comes during the emotional sequences, he was so good emotionally and he was very expressive. Chandan Roy was amazing in his role and he played his character beautifully, his dialogue delivery was too good and this one is one of his best performances after the web series Aashram.

Rukmini Maitra was decent and she looks pretty, Neha Dhupia was also decent in the role of a Police Cop, the rest other characters were decent to watch.

Analysis

The story has nothing new to show and this is the biggest drawback of the film, the story is very simple and clear, there is no thrill in the film and there is nothing to watch except Vidyut’s amazing action sequances. The screenplay of the film is also very poor, there is a scene where Police In Charge (Neha Dhupia) fails to recognize her daughter’s voice. There is a Kid who knows everything about weapons just by playing games and there is Hospital staff who doesn’t care about the guns and situations in the hospital and he wants to Play Ludo with Vivan.

There are many more illogical scenes in the film which make no sense at all, I think Vidyut needs to choose the script wisely otherwise he will have to continue with her action boy image only. The locations were good and the music of the film was brilliant.

Rating

I am going with 2.5 out of 5 stars for the film, If you are looking for something amazing of something special, this film is not for You, if you are looking to watch any film with family this weekend and then this film is for you, the film is family-friendly and it can be watched at least once for Vidyut’s amazing talent.
