Puzhu Review: Mammootty’s Thriller Fails To Impress

Puzhu Review: Whenever I start watching the Malayalam thrillers I start it with huge expectations, but sadly last 3-4 movies were not up to the mark, Mammootty starrer SonyLiv original film Puzhi is now streaming on the SonyLiv app, here is the detailed review of the film, I am going to tell you about the Performances, Plot and some more details about the film.

The plot of the film revolves around a retired police officer who lives with his son, His sister is living with her lover and the officer doesn’t like it, He is also very strict with his son, He doesn’t allow him to go outside and play and has some strict rules. On the other hand, He is also involved in the Property dealing, In all between these, he was attacked many times and his life is in danger, when he starts investigating, He suspects that his own family member even his son wants to kill him, Who was behind all these attacks? to know this you have to watch the full movie on SonyLiv.

Vasudev Sajeesh Marar the child actor was the best performer for me in the film, he acted brilliantly, He was too good with his emotions and body language, his dialogue delivery was too good and his performance is a big plus in the film. Mammootty looks a little dull initially but he was too good during the last 30 Minutes, his interactions with his son were great to watch.

Parvathy Thiruvothu was emotionally brilliant, She doesn’t have much to speak, yet she was too good in the role and she was very expressive with her emotions, Nedumudi Venu was also great with his performance, Rest other actors were decent too.

The music of the film was pretty average, and the BGM was also below average and fails to create that thrill in the film, The locations were pretty good and hats off to the casting of the film.

The biggest issue with the film is it’s super slow and it fails to engage, the storyline is also very predictable and there is nothing special in the film, The first half, almost 1 hour of the film is super dull, aimless and has nothing to offer, the film picks momentum is last 20 minutes and ends with a very predictable ending.

I am going with 2 out 5 stars for the film,  The film is around 2 hours long and i Must say it doesn’t worth your time, Apart from some decent performance the film has nothing to offer, If you still want to watch the film, You can have a look at it on the SonyLiv app, The film is available to watch in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada audio with the subtitles.
