Jamun Movie Review: A few days back Eros Now released the list of their upcoming original films and series and Jamun movie was in the list, finally Jamun released today on Eros Now web and app, and here in the post we are going to review the movie, we would talk about the plot, performances and few more highlights of the movie.

The movie stars Raghubir Yadav, Sweta Basu Prasad Sourav Goyal, and sunny Hinduja in main lead roles, the movie is created by Gaurav Mehra, Sweta Basu Prasad has also written some additional dialogues in the movie.

Plot

The movie is about a lower middle class from Mumbai, there is an Unemployed son (Amar), A Girl Chetna, who is a Medical Student and an old age father who is a doctor by profession, things were not going well in the family as Jamun (father of Amar & Chetna) wants to marry her daughter as soon as possible but due to his daughter’s eyes disability she can’t find groom, the things wents worst when Jamun got hit by Parkinson’s disease. How Chetna would manage her family and her father now, the movie is all about that, to know what happened next, you have to watch the full movie on Eros Now.

Performances

One of the best in recent times, there are two main characters in the movie, one is Chetna (played by Sweta Basu Prasad) and another one is Jamun ( Played by Raghubir Yadav). Raghubir Yadav is brilliant in his role, he never fails to impress us and you would love him here too, he is speechless, his character change, body language, and the dialogue delivery, everything was just amazing. Now coming to Sweta Basu Prasad, it is one of her best performance to date, she had to do the mindblowing job and she is the charm of the film. She fits perfectly in the role and she is killing it.

The other two characters Amar and Kewal (Played by  Sunny Hinduja and Sourabh Goyal) they were decent too and they did a brilliant job. The movie is just a masterpiece in terms of performance.

Screenplay & Other

The story of the film is a little predictable, still, the screenplay is mindblowing, the movie keeps you to your seats till the end and there is not even a single scene, where it bore you. The editing is awesome and the movie is to the point and short, The locations are good and they look very realistic, the BGM of the movie is decent and there is almost zero use of VRF. The plot is emotional and relatable.

The only issue with the movie is its languages, I don’t know why the makers uses that abusive slang in the start of the movie, if they mute it, the movie is best for family watching, but as of now if your family is not comfortable with abusive dialogues, don’t watch it with family.

  1. I really don’t know, what extraordinary you found in this depression inducing film, if it’s about performances then it’s OK, otherwise what’s the message, what is entertainment or what was thought provoking

Absolutely negative depressing and boring film

    Avoid at all cost

  2. Hey Amit – Entertainment is not the life.. Reality they showed in this movie what happens in the home & how they overcome it matters.. When you see these things in family – you’ll understand the movie and the message. I appreciate the director showing the reality than providing the entertainment or songs or etc into it. Music shows the feel of the person than providing some dialogues which will cause the audience to get disinterested. It was good movie – i liked it.
