This is the most talked-about topic after the release of the much-awaited HEROGASM episode from The Boys Season 3.
This has to be the wildest episode in the live-action history of The Boys. I wasn’t even expecting to see the faceoff between Homelander and Billy Butcher. I’ll be honest, I was kinda hoping for a blood bath, which did happen but I thought they’ll save the fights between these lads for the finale.
However, I’m shocked to see that they’ve shown us something crazy in the second half of the season finale episodes. We all know that Homelander is indeed extremely powerful but is he powerful enough to take down Billy Butcher and Soldier Boy?
Well, I don’t think so. We saw in the episode that Homelander gave a very tough fight to Soldier Boy before Butcher interfered with his Shiney eyes during the fight. Homelander was so shocked to see him with superpowers. So far The Boys have established that Homelander is superior to all superheroes and supervillains.
I am refusing to believe this. He can be badass level powerful but the story seems changed in the live-action adaptation. Homelander feels insecure after the fight with Butcher and Soldier Boy and flies away after sensing the defeat.
If we talk about the comics, Homelander is the reason for his death himself. Billy Butcher takes the benefit of him being his villain and crushes Homelanders brain inside out. Just like with no powers, Batman killed Superman; we can always expect the same here. Butcher and his team might have or not have the powers but yes they are 100% capable of killing Homelander.
John aka Homelander is one of the greatest psychopaths but nobody’s born with it, right? He has his own story justifying his nature. Now we’re at a point where we can’t even imagine Homelander without Tony Starr’s magnificent performance and super scary smile. If homelander smiles, you know there’s gonna be a highly tensed atmosphere and a lot of blood splashes.
Soldier Boy is kinda different in comics. He’s too sissy, and quite an opposite of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America. He’s not even worthy of any fights and is a shame in the name of a superhero. Well, that’s now how he is in the show though. Till episode 6, he’s shown as an extremely powerful superhero who has immunity over almost anything.
Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher is also an example of perfect casting. Butcher lives in Karl’s veins and he exceeded the expectations as Butcher, the Manly Man and superhero’s worst nightmare ever.
In concluding the true meaning and the idea of the show, we can say that in the end, Billy Butcher is gonna win always. So answering the question, Yes Butcher can kill both superheroes; or should I say supervillains? Whatever. The winner will be Butcher always. The winner will be THE BOYS
