Gyeongseong Creature Episode 1: Gyeongseong Creature is a South Korean historical mystery thriller drama web series, which is Written by Kang Eun-Kyung and directed by Chung Dong-yoon and Roh Young-sub whereas the story is set in the era of 1945 and focuses on people fighting at the border between life and death.
In this article, I am going to recap episode 1 of this show, which will cover all the details in this article.
In episode 1 of Gyeongseong Creature, titled, “Najin”, we see that a Japanese troop is ordered to retreat and try to not leave any evidence. Men in hazmat suits carry dead bodies and try to dump them into the piles where an officer wearing glasses enters a room and is told they have 12 serums and 8 Najin.

After that, we see that two officers try to pour gasoline near a metal door and we see someone bang into it and try to make it as indent. One officer lights a match, and the senior officer leaves with the rest of his people. Inside, a large humanoid creature is seen through the flames.
Where scene shifts to March 1945 when Gyeong Seong takes a newspaper from a boy selling from the train he boy also slips them a leaflet with news about air raids in Tokyo which is written by Korean insurgents. We are introduced to Jang Tae-sang who is the owner of the House of Golden Treasures.
Later, we see that Jang Tae-sang is being tortured by Commissioner Ishikawa as he suspects that he is having an affair with his wife named Lady Maeda. Ishikawa threatens to take all his possessions and have him sent to the war if he doesn’t and he is worried about the situation. Mrs. Nawol warns him that Ishikawa will hear about it long before they can.
After that, we see that Tae-sang tells Manager Gu to ask around about the woman, Myeong-ja, and advises the boy who set up a meeting with Master Kwon Jun-taek. Mrs. Nawol must discreetly sell their valuables and find out about ships sailing from Gyeong Seong if they need to escape.
And, we see that Tae-sang meets with Jun-taek as he knows Myeong-ja before she goes with Ishikawa. Where Jun-taek suggests that Tae-sang donate his wealth to the Korean independence movement, but Tae-sang is hesitant and suggests they use sleuths from Manchuria. The first test subject shows intense headaches, and the second is quiet.

At the last of episode 1, we see that Tae-sang returns home to find Nawol has contacted the sleuths and Chae-ok who is her father and is accompanied by him. He refuses to work with Tae-sang but offers to look for Sachimoto and her mother and the episode ends.
