Gumraah (2023) Ending Explained: Aditya Roy Kapoor’s crime thriller film ‘Gumraah’, which was released last month in theaters, is now streaming on Netflix. The film is around 2 hours long and is available on Netflix to watch in the Hindi audio version. Although the ending of the film was very clear, there are still a few questions that need to be answered.
I just finished watching the film, and here I am going to explain the ending. Who was the killer in the film: Arjun or Ronnie? What happened to them after the case? Here are the answers to all of your questions.
Before jumping to the end of the show, let’s have a small recap of the film ‘Gumraah‘ so that you can better understand it. Please note that there are massive spoilers ahead, so if you haven’t watched the film yet, go and watch it first.
Coming to the story first, a boy named Akash Sardana was killed in his house, and the police start an investigation into the case. After doing deep research, the police get a clue in a photograph where they saw Arjun Shegal, played by Aditya Roy Kapoor, on Akash’s balcony on the night of the murder. The police start an investigation and frame a case against Arjun, but Arjun denies those allegations. When the case was about to close, another man named Ronnie enters the police station, and he looks exactly like Arjun.
The case turns upside down here as they both were identical twins, and there was not even a single piece of evidence that states whether Arjun or Ronnie is the killer in the case. SI Shivani Mathur, played by Mrunal Thakur, believes that Ronnie is the killer and Arjun is innocent, but even she failed to provide any evidence in court. Due to a lack of evidence, the police release both of them, and they are now free.
A few months later, when Shivani was working on another case, she got a clue related to the Akash Murder case. After digging deeper and talking to a few people involved, she concluded that the murder was done by Arjun himself, and Ronnie was just a distraction who was there to save his brother.

Now the question that comes to mind is why Arjun killed Akash. Well, most of you already know it. It is very clear in the film that Arjun’s girlfriend, ‘Janhvi,’ was killed by Akash, and that’s why Arjun killed him. Ronnie received this news, and from day one, he started planning to save Arjun. He played with SI Shivani Mathur, and finally, he was able to save his brother.
Now, another question that arises after the ending of the film is what happened to Ronnie and Arjun after the case. As mentioned in the film, Arjun left the country and handed over all his wealth to his brother, and the film ends with a happy ending.
