Dead Shot (2023) Movie Review: The latest British drama is now available on VOD. The story, written by Thomas Guard, features stars such as Aml Ameen, Colin Morgan, and Máiréad Tyers in lead roles. The direction is done by Charles Guard. The almost 1.3-hour-long movie is rated R for violence and language use. Here’s the review of the film:
The movie is a story about a former Irish Army soldier, Michele, whose wife was killed by a British soldier during an ambush, and his wife was also pregnant. Now, Michele decides to find that soldier and take revenge for his wife’s death in 1970s London. Will he be able to do so?
The movie has a crisp and short running time, but it fails to introduce its characters to the audience. We do not feel connected to many characters. However, the filmmaking is done well, with great camera shots, fighting scenes, and takedowns.
But still, the movie feels incomplete at some points, and the ending is also not very satisfying. Talking about the performances, except for the main lead Colin Morgan, no one performs well throughout the film. The first half is so good that it will keep you hooked, but as the movie comes towards its end, it becomes more like the filmmaker is just trying to complete the film.
Overall, the movie can be watched once due to its action scenes and camerawork. Except for that, if you are a fan of this genre, the movie can disappoint you. The music of the film is also very average.
MY RATING: 2/5
