Blood Coast Episode 1: Netflix’s latest French action crime thriller series, Blood Coast, directed by Olivier Marcha, follows a group of police officers who take pride in their methods of tracking down dangerous criminals and fighting crime in Marseille. The series aims to prevent a horrific bloodbath by focusing on the details of their pursuit of the dangerous criminal.
Episode 1 of Blood Coast, titled, “The Crazies” begins with the introduction of a man named Lucas Murillo is escorted to a funeral for his father, but a sniper causes chaos and the police are eventually caught. Murillo manages to escape. Eight months earlier, Peretto is involved in a deal but is stopped by police, who bust it. Gunshots break out when the seller escapes, but Lyes Benamar and other officers take control.
Later, Lyes arrests a captive man and focuses on Peretto, another man involved in a deal. Peretto confronts Lyes over the 150k and suggests he has taken some of the cash for himself. The Commissioner confirms that the kid shot earlier in the operation, Samir, will survive. Lyes explains that they have been searching for Peretto for a while and have received a letter from Internal Affairs directing him to team up with a recruit from Interpol, Alice Vidal.

Alice arrives in Marseille and heads to the police station to join the Narcotics Squad. However, she is warned to be careful due to the challenging environment in Marseille. The Commissioner admits to having a soft spot for Peretto and should have fired him. They find a burner, 150,000 in cash, and hard drugs. Lyes and his team take a captive man for a ride, torturing him until he reveals they have had a new leader, an Arab with a crazy face, driving a black SUV.
Vidal is taken to see the Commissioner, who works with her father, who is concerned about Vidal’s motives and reminds her that she is under her command. Lyes’ team has not found any leads regarding Peretto and the deal, and there are no rumblings in the projects. Murillo and the Indian find out that their deal for 150k has been busted, with their priority being Kamel Saidi, Ali’s brother. They make noise during the rounds and approach Nabil, one of Ali’s lackeys, who is threatened with death if he doesn’t play ball. They demand that Vidal play ball or risk being killed.

Lyes arrives at the hospital to speak to Samir, receiving crucial information about Kamel Saidi’s murder location. Meanwhile, Vidal visits Mrs. Murillo at a care home to send a message to her “dead son.” Murillo curses Vidal out and she follows Murillo’s car from afar.
Gonzo is questioned about Nabil’s location by Kamel, but he spills the beans. Lyes arrives at a warehouse, where Tatoo and Audrey scope from afar. Kamel Saidi and his armed escort enter a house next to a large warehouse. A second car arrives, holding the Indian, joined by Murillo. Alice Vidal follows her guy.
At the last of episode 1, we see that, the officers find Kamel Saidi and his two men dead, and chaos ensues. Murillo and his men escape, and Alice Vidal catches a glimpse of them on the way out.

The operation goes sideways, and the Commissioner arrives to survey the damage. Lyes warns that Saidi’s men were killed to send a message, and when Ali Saidi returns to Marseille, he receives the message loudly.
