Story
The story of the movie was clear from the trailer itself, the movie is about the story of Migrant, from Bihar, Politicians from Mumbai is asking outsiders to leave to Mumbai and here comes the Bhonsle, Played by Manoj Bajapyee to rescue them, Manoj Bajpaaye is playing as the role of retired police cop.
The whole story starts from a chawl where Native Marathi and north Indian Bihari’s who have come from north India, while local politician forcefully tries to throw them out, an old and retired police officer Bhonsle tries to save them, can he succeed or he would also surrender in front of strong politicians, to know this you have to watch the full movie.
Performances
This is career Best performance of Manoj Bajpayee and I can bet on that, I got the glimpse of Saberjeet movie, where Randeep Hooda played with the same passion, Manoj Bajpayee has nearly 17 dialogues in the movie, and still, he is at his best, his eyes, his lips speak louder then the dialogues, old and silenced lips speak more than everyone, Manoj Bajpayee steals the show and he played the role of an old, dying and alone Police cop with great perfection. The other actors from the movie were equally good, but Manoj Bajpayee is just beyond awesome.
Screenplay & Editing
The story is very simple and predictable and you can’t imagine a screenplay in a predictable story if we look from a commercial perspective, this film needs lots of work on editing and screenplay basis, but some films are made for just pleasant watching, without thrill and exciting, just with some raw emotion and acting and this one is one of them. You would get connected to Bhonsle and those two migrants. The currents situation throughout the country also fits with the movie, although the reasons are different.
Overall
We are going with 3.8 out of 5 for the movie, the movie is not made for masala and entertainment purpose, the story goes very slow but it is a slow burn if you are thinking of any thrill and masala material from the movie, don’t watch it, there is nothing like that, if you are looking for some stealer performances with a great social message, Go for it.
