The latest suspense drama is now streaming on Netflix. The movie stars African actresses Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and Letoya Makhene-Pulumo in lead roles. It is written and directed by Stephane Zwane, with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes, and is rated TV-MA for some mature content. Here’s the review of the movie:
The movie is a story about Tamara, who is dedicated to her job and has devoted her whole life to performing well in the company. Her main aim is to become a partner in the company where she works. In pursuit of this goal, she even rejects her boyfriend, Clinton, who proposes marriage. However, her life takes a turn when an old friend of Clinton enters their lives. This person is not only a strong competitor to Tamara but also affects her relationship.
The main drawback of the movie is its short length, which prevents the audience from fully connecting with the characters. The movie doesn’t provide enough time to establish the main character properly. As for the performances, the main cast’s acting is average. However, one of the supporting cast members, playing the role of Lawrence, delivers an impressive performance and shines despite the short role.
The movie fails to create a sense of tension among the audience, and the ending is not satisfying. It becomes predictable, especially if you have watched similar movies before. However, the movie does end on a cliffhanger, leaving the possibility of a second part open, but its development will depend on the movie’s performance.
MY RATING: 2/5
So, this is my rating and review of the movie. If you are a fan of movies that evoke tension and suspense, then this movie is worth a one-time watch for you. Still, you can give it a chance, especially for the strong performances by some of the actors. However, the director fails to deliver a masterpiece.
