Thiruchitrambalam Review: Thiruchitrambalam is a feel-good slice of life family drama directed by Mithran R Jawahar. He puts a delightful spin using the Velai Illa Pattadhari template and it’s amazing at its core.
So, the story revolves around Thiruchitrambalam (Dhanush) alias Pazham, a food delivery executive at a company called Doink. He is in a stand-off with his cop father Neelankandan (Prakash Raj), drinks merrily with his grandfather (Bharathiraja), and shares life with his childhood friend Shobana (Nitya Menon).
He has no ambitions in his life. Teaming up with his best friend, he is on a quest to find his high school crush Anusha (Raashi Khanna) and a girl Ranjani (Priya Bhavani Shankar) he meets at a village function while gripping with his trauma.
The story is fresh, simple and a very well-told one. The casting looks perfect as everyone perfectly gets into the skin of the characters and they skillfully play the roles.
There are shades of his previous blockbuster hits like (VIP) & Yaaradi Nee Mohini, still, the film goes on its flow. There’s a scene where Pazham gets ready to go on a date with Anusha but in a later scene, she breaks his heart. Most of the scenes from this film are highly relatable.
Even one action scene in the film looks raw and realistic. The humor of this film works great as the characters are sharp-witted and the comedic sense works well with the dialogues. The comedy and Emotional scenes in the film are just great.
Music in this film by Anirudh Ravichander simply accentuates us to the mood of the film. The dance choreography in the song ‘Megham Karukkatha’ is just awesome. And the peppy one ‘Thai Kelavi’, both of them are just lovely to listen to.
The first half of this film is good but the second half is really excellent. The climax is a bit predictable but ends in a warm and fuzzy manner. Director simply shuts us up with a heartwarmingly pictured climax that makes us quit cribbing any further and celebrates the lead pairs’ unison. You truly brim with happiness when they come together.
Overall, Thiruchitrambalam is a great watch as a family drama. The film doesn’t disappoint us at any point. So, this was our review of Thiruchitrambalam. Drop your thoughts if you’ve watched it.
