Jug Jugg Jeeyo Review: The much-hyped Dharma Production film Jug Jug Jeeyo is all yours now, the film released on the big screens on 24th June 2022, I just watched the film and here are the details and highlights of the film, I am going to tell you about the story, Performances and all other aspects so that you decide that, a film worth your time and money or not.
The film stars a set of super talented actors, We are going to see Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the main lead roles, we are also going to see Prajakta Koli and Manish Paul in the crucial roles, The film is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The film starts in Canada where Kuku (Played by Varun Dhawan) and Naina (Played by Kiara Advani) and living together for 5 years after the Happy Love marriage, But now the things are changed, they keep fighting every time and there are lots of misunderstandings between them, Now Kuku and Naina wants to take divorce. In all of these Ginni’s marriage got fixed, Ginni is Kuku’s sister and thus Kuku and Naina come to India.
During some conversations with his Dad, Kuku came to know that his Dad is also planning to file for divorce, and here comes the typical old ‘Dharma’ Mindset in Kuku, he is now trying to save his Parent’s Marriage, will he be able to do so? what will be the end of the Kuku’s and Naina’s story? to know this you have to watch the film.
Honestly speaking, I didn’t find anything in the film that makes it a big-screen film except that big Grand songs and houses, the film portrays the same old story mixed with forced comedy, Romance, songs, drama, and emotions. I have grown up watching films like this and now these types of films are now this kind of films are not going to excite the audiences anymore. The songs were amazing and those were the only thing that adds a plus to the film.
Coming to the Performances, Anil Kapoor shines among all and he dominates the whole film, His charm is still the same and the way he manages to pull out the two emotions at the same time was quite amazing. For me, Anil Kapoor is a winner and he nailed it in the film. Varun Dhawan also delivers in the film, but again he struggles during the emotional and some serious sequences, I don’t know why he gets nulled in some scenes. Manish Paul was good in the film for me, His one-lines and expressions make you laugh and I must say, he hits it off the park.
Kiara Advani looks the same as in her last few films, her characters look similar to her previous films, She manages to do better than the other co-actors, She was brilliant in the emotional sequences and she looks pretty. Prajakta looks pretty average in the film and it looks like she is still in that Youtube bubble and her characters, her dialogue delivery, and expression almost look the same, although she is in a small role, still she will want to forget this role. Neetu Kapoor was also decent in her short yet very crucial role.
The actions of the film were amazing, the songs and Music add another boost to the film, But the film offers nothing apart from these two things, The film is not made for the big screens, the story is very predictable and ending the so old Fashioned that every 90s Kids can assume. Post pandemic everything has changed and I don’t think audiences will spend their money for watching this same old family drama, Rest the box office is very unpredictable nowadays, anything can happen.
I am going with 2.5 out of 5 stars for the film, I am not saying the film is bad, I am just trying to say that the film offers nothing new and it is the same old story, The film is an OTT material. Rest if you are a fan of any of these actors you can watch the film on the big screens.
