The Kerala Story Review: Bollywood or filmmaking is not dead. All you need to do is make some courageous and content-based films, and audiences are going to love the film no matter what. A low-budget film with no A-lister actors is now making buzz all over India due to its shocking and bold content. Yes, I am talking about the Adah Sharma film ‘The Kerala Story.’

I just finished the film, and here is the detailed review of the film. Before jumping to the review, let me tell you that the film is not suitable to watch with kids. There are a few rape sequences and some abuses in the film too.

The film stars Adah Sharma in the main lead role. The film is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The story of the film revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan (played by Adah Sharma), Nimah (played by Yogita Bihani), Gitanjali (played by Siddhi Idnani), and Asifa, who are studying in the Nursing college in Kasargod. Shalini joins ISIS after a few years and then gets arrested. To know how and why, you need to watch the full movie on the big screens near you.

Coming to the performances, we will come to Adah’s performances later. I would like to specially mention the performances of Sonia Balani in the film. She is playing the character of Asifa, and she has nailed it. She was living in the character, and after watching the film, I am pretty sure that you are going to hate the character from your core. Adah Sharma looks great in the role, and she has done a brilliant job. Although her accent looks poor at times, overall she has done a phenomenal job.

Yogita looks stunning, and she was too good in the climax. Siddhi Idani was good in her respective role too, along with all other supporting casts. Vijay Krishna’s character looks scary, and again, you are going to hate this character after watching the film.

The VFX of the film is poor, and it needs lots of improvement. The BGM of the film is top-notch, and the same goes with the screenplay. The cinematography in the climax was superb, and those desert sequences were stunning.

I am going with 3.5 out of 5 stars for the film. There are some flaws in the film. Yet, the film is bold, shocking, and it is a must-watch film for all. The film is going to be a big hit at the box office for sure. The first two days’ collection is around 18 crores, and the film is getting bigger and better.

Rating: 3.5/5
