The Kashmir Files Review: When Vivek Agnihotri decided to release the film on 11th March 2022, everyone was said that it is a foolish decision as the film was clashing with Prabhsh biggie Radhe Shyam, but it looks like Vivek was so confident about the film. I finished the film a few hours back and here is a detailed review of the film.
The movie stars Anupam Kher in the main lead role, along with Bhasha Sumbli, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, and Chinmay Mandlekar in supporting roles, the film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar, Atul Srivastava, and Mrinal Kulkarni in crucial roles, the film is created and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.
The plot of the film revolves around Krishna (Played by Darshan Kumar) who is a JNU student, he belongs to Kashmir and he is a Kashmiri Pandit, but he was brainwashed by his professor Radhika Menon (Played by Pallavi Joshi) and he knows nothing about the Kashmir. Anupam Kher in the role of Pandit Pushkar Nath Pandit is Krishna’s Grand Father and to full fill the wish of his grandfather, Krishna visited the valley and there he came to know about the shocking truths which changes his life completely.
The best thing about the film is it seems so real and pure, I can relate to each and every frame of the film even if I am not a Kashmiri Pandit, The sequence where Sharda Pandit (Played Bhasha Sumbli) was forced to eat the blood socked rice was just unreal and I can’t forget that scene, that scene is so powerful that it can make anyone emotional. I was literally in tears throughout the film, the scripting and the screenplay of the film is just amazing and it is one of the best film made by bollywood to date on the Kashmir issue.
The Kashmir Files Day 1 Collection, Screen Count, Occupancy
Anupam Kher himself is Kashmiri Pandit and he know how the Kashmiri Pandits suffered, he looks like he is living in the characters, that emotion is visible in his eyes and i must say this one is his greatest performance till date. Darshan Kumar is such a great actor and my respect for him as an actor becomes 100 times today, the way he had shown the two sides of a Kashmiri youth is just amazing.
The other actors like Chinmay Mandlekar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Puneet were so great in their role, you can going hate Chinmay for his reel character, he is completely living the character and it reminds me of real Bitta.
The best thing about the film is its locations and the storytelling, the direction is superb and Vivek has hit it out of the Park, he has made a film which almost seems impossible after the the ‘Shikara’, he created an amazing film ‘The Tashkent Files’ in 2019 and now this gem ‘The Kashmir Files’ will be remembered whole life, many new awards for the films are coming next year for sure.
I can bet that you will not forget the climax for at least 1 week, the climax is very brutal and shocking every event is based on the true story and that makes the film so special. The music is good and the last 10 minutes is just heart-wrenching as I said.
I am going with 4.5 out of 5 stars for the film, The film is Brutal & is the Best Film On Kashmir Issue Till Date, Vivek Agnihotri is amazing and he has created another masterpiece, the film is not suitable to watch with Kids. The film is around 2 Hours and 50 Minutes long and you can watch it in the cinema halls near you.
