The Great Indian Murder Review: I am an admirer of Vikash Swaroop since his first book Q&A and when I heard that a web series is going to be made on another book by him, I was so excited for the series, After looking at the recent releases of Hotstar I was pretty sure that the series is going to be awesome, is it? Here is the detailed review of Hotstar’s original web series The Great Indian Murder.
The web series is created by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the Man behind films like Shahid and Paan Singh Tomar. The web series is of a total of 9 episodes and all episodes are approx 40-50 minutes long. The series stars Richa Chadda, Pratik Gandhi, Raghubir Yadav, Jatin Goswami, and Ashutosh Rana in crucial roles. The web series also stars Paoli Dam, Amey Wagh, Shashank Arora, and others. The series is not a family-friendly show. Let’s jump to review.
The story of the series starts at a Party where a Big Businessman and Son of a Powerful politician is shot dead, CBI starts investigating the case and they came to know that there are six different people who have motives to kill Vicky, when the investigation goes dipper some shocking truths comes out, what were those and who was the killer? to know this you have to watch the full web series on Hotstar.
The Great Indian Murder Ending Explained
Coming to the performances, Aashutosh Rana is amazing as always, he looks intense, Calm, and dangerous at the same time, he played the character of a corrupt politician very beautifully who can go to any extent to get into power. Jatin Goswami is too good in the role of Vicky Rai, I personally liked him so much and he is one of the best performers in the series, his skills are brilliant and his dialogue delivery was amazing. He looks completely fitted into the role and this role by him will be remembered for a long time.
Pratik Gandhi struggles a bit, I think we need more time to come out from the hangover of scam 1992 and his iconic role, his role as CBI officer in the series was decent but a lot of improvement was needed. Richa Chadda looks the same, she used to be such a great actor but if we look at her last 3 To 4 works, she lost that charm and she looks very dull. I would to highlight Shashank Arora, he is too good in the series and he really needs appreciation for that. Rest another actor like Raghubir Yadav and Paoli am were pretty average with their performances.
Coming to the writing of the series, I don’t know what happened to the series after episode 1, episode 1 was going so well and after that, the series changed and trajectory and then it lost somewhere, it becomes so slow and the story has no any thrills at all, the investigations were very dull and it never engaged me, The writing after the 2-3 episodes is very poor and it moves randomly. I think over-ambitious writing is the main reason behind this.
The music of the series is below average, the locations were amazing, the screenplay is average, the editing is decent and the execution of the series is very poor, the series lost its connection with the audiences after episode 2 or 3.
I am going with 2 0ut of 5 stars for the series and I personally didn’t like it. I will suggest you skip the 8 hours series and instead of that, you can check Rocket Boys on SonyLiv. if you still want to watch it, You can check it on Hotstar. There is a total of 9episodes and all episodes are streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali audio along with the subtitles.
