The Buckingham Murders Movie: Directed by Hansal Mehta, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ marks the beginning of Kapoor Khan’s Production venture. This film is a Hindi Language Crime-thriller based film produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and Mahana Films.
‘The Buckingham Murders’ has already had its world premiere on 14 Oct 2023 at the London Film Festival and received a standing ovation from the viewers. Now the film seems all ready for its theatrical release on September 13th. This film was also set as the opening for Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival which happened between 27th Oct to 5th Nov.
In this film, Kareena Kapoor is going to play the role of the lead character Jasmeet Bhamra. Her role is of a British-Indian detective who has been assigned to a murder case of a 10-year-old child in England. In the story, before this case, even she lost her 10-year-old baby which for sure will bring twist and trauma to the story. Along with her, we also have a British actor, Keith Howell Charles Allen as Miller.
Then we have Chris Wilson, Ash Tandon as DI Hardik Patel, Kapil Redekar as Sauib Chaudhary, Charles Craddock as James Thomas, Jonathan Nyati as DS Cowden, Rukku Nahar as Harleen, Adwoa Akoto as DS Sharon Marks and Haqi Ali. Emma Dalesman has done the cinematography for this film and songs have been sung by Karan Kulkarni and Bally Sagoo. The total runtime of this film is 107 mins with a nearly Rs. 40 Crore budget.
In an interview, Kareena Kapoor mentioned that her role in the film is inspired by Kate Elizabeth Winslet’s role in Mare of Easttown. Most of the dialogues in the films are in English with 20% of it being in Hindi language.
Although the film has received a great response at the film festival and Jio festival, it is still fair to wait to conclude with the final figures as the film is in both English and Hindi language following old Hollywood-style movies, this might be something new for some of the viewers. If you like Indian suspenseful films with crime and action involved, then this film can be a pick in your list as it promises strong writing along with a great cast.
