Tenet Verdict Hit Or Flop: Due to Coronavirus many movies that were scheduled to release this year either shifted to next year or are coming directly on some OTT Platforms. As the theatres were ordered to remain closed during the lockdown all over the world. Many people started to reopen the theatres and Christopher Nolan was a prime figure in that. He wanted to release his movie in theatres so that the audience could enjoy it to the max.
In the trade, this was being considered as the best possible move because if there was anyone who is capable of attracting the audience to the theatres it is Christopher Nolan. The movie released after the theatres were opened with all the precautions. While the movie has been garnering praise from everyone, the same success is not converting into the box office.
The collections of Tenet have been below average which is shocking as the movie is praiseworthy coupled with the brand that is Nolan. It is the fear of Coronavirus which is settled in the mind of the public.
The collections of Tenet in the United States have been underwhelming as it collected only $9.4 million in its first weekend. While the first two weeks collection of the film is below $30 million $29.5 million to be exact. While globally the movie has grossed over $209 million ( 1536 crore Indian Rupees) but it is still being termed as underwhelming.
This shows that the fear of the pandemic is still intact in the minds of people and it will take either a big-budgeted superhero movie from DC or Marvel to attract the audience back to the theatres.
