The film stars Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor (Both Are Playing the same character) in the main lead roles, the film also stars Isha Talwar, Suhail Naiyer, Satish Kaushik, and Juhi Chawla in the supporting yet very crucial roles. The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Let’s Jump to the review
The story of the film revolved around B.G Sharma (Played By Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor), B.G Sharma is a workaholic and he loves working and cooking, He got retired from his company and is now everyone suggests him to stop working and take a rest. But Sharma Ji is so fond of working that he keeps doing unnecessary things like fixing the water tank alarm, cooking, and all other stuff.
One fine day Sharma Ji get into the Kitty Party and there he surprised everyone with his cooking skills from there he get into a new job of cooking at the kitty Parties. What will be the reaction of his sons when they came to know this and how their life will get affected, the film is all about that.
Coming to the performance, Hats off to the man who suggested that Paresh Rawal will do the remaining sequences of the film, I can’t think anyone else other than Paresh Rawal Playing this look, They both are superb and they almost look the same in terms of dialogue delivery and body language. There is no doubt that Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor are acting legends of Bollywood and they proved the same in the film.

Suhail Naiyer was also good in the role of the elder son of Sharma Ji, he looks normal initially but frame by frame he looks confident and he was too good in the last sequences, Isha Talwar was good in her role too and she looks much better in this film than her previous film Ginny Weds Sunny. Rest other characters like Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik were brilliant in terms of acting.
The film may feel confusing for many, as it is uncomfortable to watch the two-person playing the same character, but you will get into it after 30-40 minutes of the film and from there the film will take you on an emotional ride, If your parents are retired I am sure many of you are going to relate with it. The music and the BGM of the film are amazing and the same is with the locations, the locations look realistic and it gives a major boost to the authenticity of the film.
I am going with 3 out of 5 for the ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ if you are looking for a film to watch with family and kids and want to spent a good weekend, the film is must watch for you, the film is emotional and so pure. If you are looking for some action, thrill, or drama in the film, this film is not for you.
