Salute Movie Review: Dulquer Salmaan’s crime thriller is now available to watch on the SonyLiv the film was slated for the 18th March release but makers decided to release it a day before, the film is now available to watch online on SonyLiv, here is the detailed review and analysis of the film.
The movie stars Dulquer Salman in the main lead role as the Cop, the cast of Salute also includes Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, the film is directed by Roshan Andrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay. The film was released on SonyLiv in Hindi, Malayalam, and other versions along with the English subtitles. The film is suitable to watch with Family and Kids.
The plot of the film revolves around A double murder case, The team led by Dysp Ajith ([Played Manoj K Jayen) is investigating the case, Ajith is the brother of Arvind (Played By Dulquer Salman). Due to the political pressure, the Police frames the wrong case and an Auto-driver Murli got arrested. After looking at the hopelessness of Murli’s family, Arvind decided to investigate the case on his own and go against the system, Will he be able to do so, the film will tell you.
Dulquer Salmaan is a great actor and there is no doubt about that, He played the role beautifully and he looks absolutely perfect in it, His body language and dialogue delivery make the role more impactful and real. Although he was too ahead in terms of acting in his last release ‘Karup’, still he looks good here too. Manoj K. Jayan is the best for me in the film, he looks very impressive and the way he hold his character between the emotional sequences was too good, he was so expressive throughout the film and this is the best thing about his performance in the film.

Diana Penty looks good, it was great to see her back on the screen, Rest other actors like Sai Kumar, Binu Pappu, Vijayakumar, Binnu Pappu, and others were decent enough to watch.
I didn’t like the story much, there is a lot of family drama in it and the film is missing that thrilling charm, almost 60-70 minutes of the film is super slow and these 60 minutes contribute nothing to the story, the climax of the film was good and it keeps you glued to the screens, the ending is again not up to the mark. The screenplay of the film is very poor and the same is with editing, The BGM and locations were amazing and they save the film.
I am going with 2.5 out of 5 stars for the film, The film is super slow and it tests your patience, if you have nothing to watch and have lots of time, You can watch the film on SonyLiv, If you are looking for something like Drishyam and other Malayalam thriller than this film will disappoint you.
