RAID 2 Release Date Confirmed: Ajay Devgn starrer’s upcoming film, Raid 2 has begun its shooting on 6th January 2024 and it’s getting action-packed to get released on 21st Feb 2025. This film is a sequel of the film ‘Raid’ which was released in 2018 under the banner of Panorama Studios and T Series.
The plot of this film will be based on some true cases which happened in the past. ‘Raid 2’ has been directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and written by Ritesh Shah. It has been produced by Abhishek Pathak, Bhushan Kumar, Gaurav Nanda, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Krishna Kumar Dua.
In this film, we have Ajay Devgn in the lead role as he was in its prequel film Raid performing the character of an IRS officer Amay Patnaik. Along with him, this time we also have Riteish Deshmukh onboard with Vaani Kapoor, Gayathiri Iyer, Rajat Kapoor, Ashish Gokhale, Sushil Dahiya, Ayushi Nema, and Madhvendra Jha.
In the previous film ‘Raid’, Ajay Devgn was an Income-tax officer who conducted raid on a high-profile white-collar goon which too interesting turns. Same way, in this 2025 film, again he is going to track down another white-collar criminal with his new team.
In the first part of the film, Ileana D’Cruz played the role of Ajay Devgn’s wife but in the 2025 film, Ileana has been replaced by Vaani Kapoor performing the role of Amay Patnaik’s wife. Breaking the silence, Riteish Deshmukh has played the role of the white-collar criminal who Officer Patnaik will tackle.
The film is focused on highlighting the unsung heroes of our nation in the income tax department who took extreme measures and faced several challenges in tracking down crime. The release of this film was announced back in 2020 only, then the pre-production began in 2022 with shooting starting in 2024 in various locations like Mumbai, UP, Rajasthan and Delhi.
Recently, T-series posted the release poster of the film on its Instagram handle with the caption, “Bringing back the action, intensity & suspense”. The film is all set for the Grand release on 21st Feb 2025.
