My Best Friend’s Exorcism Review: Every relationship has its up and downs and there are times when one needs to stand by his/her best friend and come what may, not leave their post. Let it be anything, a best friend is someone who is always there.
Keeping this spirit in mind, a new Amazon Original Film has been released on Prime Video titled “My Best Friend’s Exorcism” which is based on the Quirk Novels by Grady Hendrix and the humorous part about the film is that it’s a fusion of Horror & Comedy which is always quite fun to watch.

As the title of self-explanatory, it’s the story of two best friends Gretchen & Abby when one of them gets possessed by a demon when they go into an abandoned building in the woods. Possessed, Gretchen slowly starts to go pale and isolate people by pushing them away in very mean ways going deep into their insecurities and exposing them which is the doing of the demon, Andras who is very much like a rapist because he was always looking for a way inside Gretchen and because of that, she could not even change her clothes or shower.
It isn’t until later that Abby finds out that she is possessed when she asks a mall exorcist to pull the demon out of her he starts off weirdly but chickens out midway and leaves them hanging. Abby, takes over and it comes to a conclusion when the demon comes out of Gretchen and Abby burns him to ashes.

The film concludes when both of them are talking to each other while Gretchen is moving town and they say their goodbyes but not forever when we’re given some wholesome messages about every character as to what they’re doing and all of them seem to be doing pretty good themselves with Gretchen & Abby still best-friends who meet each other once a year at the lake house for a trip.
Our Verdict: 2.8/5
The film is a quite fresh take on Horror infused with comedy and is quite fun to watch. The Horror element is not so scary itself but combined with friendship, the twisted game that the demon plays works out really well and we get a pretty decent enjoyable film.
