Previously Sony announced the sequel of the new Ghostbusters Afterlife at CinemaCon. The executives revealed a little clip from the sequel and announced the crew of the movie. Gil Kenan will be the writer of this sequel and Jason Reitman will direct this much-awaited Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel.
In the post-credit scene of Ghostbusters Afterlife, we saw that these amazing ghost hunter team will be returning to their firehouse based in New York City. We can expect some new amazing ghosts and lots of fun since that’s what Ghostbusters is famous for.
This franchise has been successful for Sony and they’re keen to take this forward and pass the fun and vibes to the new generation. I mean who wouldn’t love watching ghostbusters catching ghosts right?
All the Ghostbusters movies have grossed almost $938 million globally which makes this Sony’s one of the most loved franchises after Spiderman Universe Movies including Venom.
Sony has decided to release the direct sequel of Ghostbusters: Afterlife on DECEMBER 2023. Watch out people, this movie might come a bit early as well if the pre-production gets completed sooner. The lead cast of Ghostbusters Afterlife will be returning along with some new and unannounced faces.
