The movie has received decent love and support from the audience. It has crossed the 200 Cr mark and is all set to be the third blockbuster of SRK this year after Pathaan and Jawan. However, Dunki, on its opening day, collected less revenue than these previous films.
Dunki has also set multiple records at the box office. It is the 116th Hindi movie to cross the Rs. 100 Cr mark in India and the 10th film for SRK. Additionally, it is the 4th film of Raj Kumar Hirani to cross this milestone and the 3rd film for Taapsee Pannu to do so.
In this film, Raj Kumar Hirani focused on the backdoor entry by means of illegal immigrants to countries like the UK, US, and Canada. The movie also depicts the challenges faced by individuals in doing so and how their lives are changed by this decision.
The film even faced strong competition with Prabhas’ film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, which was released a day after Dunki’s release date.
