Dune Movie Trailer Released: Dune is an upcoming science-fiction drama film which is directed by Dennis Villeneuve who has also directed some of the acclaimed movies in the past like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. He has helmed Dune this time and now the fans of the novel and his works are excited for the film.
While the movie is adapted from the novel by Frank Herbert of the same name which released in 1965. It is said that Dune will cover only the half or the first half of the movie as the makers have decided to make 2 parts of the novel into movies and hence Dune is the first half.
The screenplay of the movie has been done by Eric Roth, Villeneuve himself, and John Spaihts. Warner Bros. has released an official trailer for the film which has left the viewers excited for the film.
The movie follows the story in a future world where Duke Leto Atreides has taken control over a desert planet named Arrakis which is also called Dune. The planet is termed dangerous but also of utmost importance for the human race.
It is said that the planet contains the most precious thing in the universe ” the spice” which is a drug capable of extending human life, giving the human powers to think like a superhuman and the ability to be faster than light. Leto takes his army and trusted advisors and son Paul to the planet so that they can start mining for the spice. But they are met with dangerous creatures in the sand called Sandworms.
Meanwhile, Paul is having strange dreams which are later turning into reality, he is separated from the group and gets lost in the desert and then he meets the natives of the place called Fremen.
Cast
The film has an ensemble cast which includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and Oscar Isaac in main lead, the movie also stars Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Dave Bautista in lead roles with Stephen McKinley Henderson and Javier Bardem in crucial roles.
Release Date
The movie was earlier slated to release in November 2020 but then was shifted to December 18th, 2020.
