Anek Movie Review: Anubhav Sinha needs no introduction, he is known for his amazing hard-hitting films, in the last few years he has given films like Mulk, Thappad, and Article 15, Now he came back again with another film on another rare yet very crucial issue, The film titled ‘Anek’ released today on the big screens, here is the detailed review about the cast, Plot, highlights and drawback of the film.
The film stars Ayushman Khurana in the main lead role along with Andrea Kevichüsa and Mipham Otsal in crucial roles, The film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, JD Charoborty and others, The film is written and directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by T series film. The film is around 2 hours and 30 minutes long and is suitable to watch with family. Let’s Jump to review.
From the trailer itself, it was clear that the film will show the issues of North East India, the film mainly revolves around 3 people, Joshua (Played By Ayushmann), Aido (Played by Andrea Kevichusa), and Wangnao, the Father of Aido (Played by Mipham Otsal). Joshua is an undercover agent sent by the government to establish peace in the northeast, Aido is a northeaster boxing player who wants to prove her nationality by playing in the national team of India and Wangno is a school teacher and he is also a separatist. When Joshua and Aido meet, Joshua wants to help Aido while her father is in between them, in all between these the reality of Joshua comes out, how will face this situation and what will happen after that, the film is all about that.
I was in doubt as I can’t imagine Ayushmann Firing bullets, doing actions, beating goons, we never saw him before doing this, but when he enters into this film, you will see a completely new Ayushmann with a changed look, body language and attitude, this shows how much talent he is and he can do everything, He nailed it completely.
Andrea Kevichusa is debuting with the film and she is fine, She belongs to the same region and thus she looks so real and authentic, although she struggles during a few emotional sequences, still it’s a great debut. She was too good with the screen presence, but the chemistry with Ayushman was missing there. Mipham Otsal was amazing and he brings that thrill into the film, he is one of the best performers in the film followed by Ayushmann. Other actors like Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, and JD were brilliant as always.

The screenplay looks great and the film holds you till the end, the locations look very real and that provides a major boost to the film, Hats to the Anubhav for bringing the rare issue to the big screens, the music is slow and intense and it fits of the film perfectly, A Great work by Anurag indeed. I think the film is somewhat like the ‘The Kashmir Files’ film, many of us connect us with the Kashmiri Pandits story and we found that film emotional and har hitting, the same is with this film too, If you manage to connect yourself with the film, You are going to love this.
I am going with 3 out 5 stars for the film, Anubhav and Ayushmann delivers it again after ‘Article 15’, If you loved the films like ‘Mulk’, ‘Article 15’ or you like serious films this film if, for you, You can watch it in the cinema halls near you. If you are thinking to watch some commercial action film then this one is not for you.
