Alchemy Of Souls Episode 1 Recap & Ending Explained: Oh, I love shows starting with dark pallets and rain. We see a lady walking in this weather and he feeds a kid. Suddenly there’s an attack from an unknown zombie-looking person. He tried to kill the mother, that kid, and the lady to take their soul but Gang Jang appears and saves them by giving a tough fight to that ugly person. We can see some water powers and learn that this show is a fantasy drama.

Gang Jang locks his moves with the power of water and we learn that the zombie person is none other than the son of that lady herself. We learn that he’s a soul shifter and he has lost control. The lady cries and begs to not kill his son yet. Eventually, he turns into a rock after not getting any soul to feed himself.

Gang Jang is summoned by the King since the king is too sick and by the condition, we can guess that he won’t live long. The king came to know that Gang Jang, a very powerful mage is working on a new spell that can be used to exchange souls between two bodies. This sorcery was of course not allowed but the King requests a soul exchange for 7 days with Gang Jang so that he can mate with someone and give an heir.

Both switches their souls and the king betrays the mage and sleeps with Gang Jang’s wife Do-Hwa and makes her pregnant. This breaks Gang Jang and after the king dies, the kid gets born. Due to the birth of the kid, his wife dies which breaks him. He locks the source power of the kid so that he can never use or learn any kind of magic and goes away from the city.

The story takes a 20-year jump and we see a young woman named Naksu fighting with the royal soldiers. Naksu is an assassin and has water powers. She is excellent and well trained which is why she gives a very tough fight to all those soldiers single-handed.

We see some water fight and Naksu gets injured severely by taking the magical water arrow through her chest. She was bleeding hence she runs away but it seemed that she don’t have a lot of time.

She decides to shift her soul with someone and ends up being in a body of a blind girl. Somehow after her soul enters her body, she sees everything. Why? This question is yet unanswered but the girl she got into was named “Mu-Deok”. She loses all her powers and in her new body, she comes to know that she is being sold to a brothel.

In this brothel, she learns about the four noble house and their four heirs known as the four seasons. She encounters one of them by trying to escape from there.

Nak-Su’s body and her sword were recovered by the royal soldiers where they see a blue mark on her chest. This shows that she has tried to shift her soul. While trying to run, the person she encountered was Jang Uk. He somehow was attracted to her eyes and helps her run away.

We see that Jang Uk is a part of that royal family and he is the weakest among all the heirs in the family. We learn that he ran away from all the pieces of training he’s ever had since no one is teaching him the sorcery and magic spells. Uk wants to find someone who can unlock his curse and teach him the spells.

Nak-Su wanted to kill these people since they were the ones who had done something terrible to her family. The four seasons are the daughter of the Jin Family, Jin Cho-Yeon, and the heir of the Park family, Park Dang-Gu. Then comes the genius from the Seo family, Seo Yul; and Jang Uk, the successor of the Jang family.

Nak-Su now known as Mu-Deok will be colliding with Jang Uk in the future and we can already sense that.

Jang Uk helps her to hide from royal soldiers by making her his maid. By the way, Mu-Deok tried to fight, he knew that she was the Nak-Su everyone was trying to kill. We can see these pairs have some comic and cute relief moments and this was very much needed.

At night, some assassins show up and fire up the house to create chaos. They take away the body and sword of Nak-Su. People tries to catch them but they ran away and some of them died fighting the seasons.

Mu-Deok was almost caught but Uk saves her and introduces her to his friends as his maid., The episode ends with Uk seeing lights in Mu-Deok’s eyes and tells her that she’s destined to be his master.
