Dasvi Review: Netflix original film Dasvi got released today on Jio Cinema and Netflix, the film was a direct OTT release, I just finished the film, and here is the detailed review of Abhishek Bachchan’s Dasvi, I am going to tell you about the story, Performances and more.

The film stars Abhishek Bacchan and Yami Gautam in the main lead roles along with Nimrat Kaur, the film is directed by Tushar Jalota, the film skips the Cinema hall releases and the makers decided to release it on the OTT. The film is around 2 hours long and it is suitable to watch with family and Kids.

The plot of the film revolved around Ganga Ram Chaudhary (Played By Abhishek Bachchan) who is the CM of Harit Pardesh, Ganga Ram was charged with a Scam in the state and from there he gave her CM Chair to his wife Bimla Devi (Played By Nimrat Kaur). When the Jailor Jyoti Deswal (Played By Yami Gautam) insults Ganga Ram for his education, Ganga Ram decided to study and Pass the ‘Dasvi’ (Class 10th). Will he be able to do so? or there will be a Political conspiracy against him?, to know this you have to watch the full movie on Netflix or Jio cinema.

Abhishek Bachchan is the biggest highlight of the film and he has given his 100% to this role, he was too good and he has completely transformed himself and it looks like he is living into the characters. Rest other characters were not impressive at all, I don’t know why I can’t find any chemistry between Nimrat and Abhishek Bachchan. There was no bonding between them and on screens, chemistry was missing from the sequences.

Yami Gautam tried all her best still she fails, this one is going to be one of her weakest performances to date, she doesn’t fit the role at all, She was too good in the film ‘A Thursday, and after that watching her like this Painful. Rest other characters were decent and none of them were impressive enough to be noticed.

I don’t get what the makers want to covey from the film, I think he was confused, the film focuses on the importance of education but the whole sequences were unreal and lack logic, The film starts well and then it slows down in the middle, the song where Gangra Ram starts reading was not needed at all, it was so frustrating to watch Gangaram talking with the freedom fighters, I am still confused, why that sequence was there.

The locations were decent, the BGM was decent, the screenplay was scattered and the climax was very poor, the ending of the film looked like a fast-moving train where there was no stoppage even for the message of the film.

I am going with 2.5 out of 5 stars for the film, I will suggest you watch  Gullak Season 3 on SonyLiv if you want to watch something with family if you are looking for an alternative to Gullak Season 3, you can watch this film with very fewer expectations, the film is strictly for the Bachchan’s fan.
