Shaadistan Review (Shaadisthan Movie): Female-centric films are a new trend nowadays, some of these films get massive collections these days while some go unnoticed. Kirti Kulhari starer Hotstar’s original film Shaadisthan is now released on Hotstar Cineplex, I Just finished the film and here I am with the positives and negatives aspects of the film, I am going to talk about the story, performances and few more aspects of the film.
The movie stars Kirti Kulhari, Rajan Modi, Shenpenn khymsar, Ajay K. and others in the main lead role, the movie is created by Raj Singh Choudhary, the movie is approx 90 minutes long, the movie has little use of verbal abuses, there is no skin show in the film, so you can watch the film with family, avoid watching it with small Kids.
Plot
The story of the film starts from a road trip when a very conservative family joins the Music band and their destination is the same. The family is so conservative that Arshi’s das doesn’t even tolerate anyone coming even close to his daughter, even to wish her birthday. Arshi’s parents want her to get engaged, but Arishi doesn’t want to get into these things as she is only 18. During the journey, an argument takes place between father and daughter and Arshi breaks down into tears. When Saasa (Kirti Kulhari), the singer from the band gets to know about Arshi she decides to save herself. She tries all her best to convince Arshi’s mother but Arshi’s mother can’t go against society and her husband. What happens in end? to know this you have to watch the full film on Hostar.
Performances
As I said earlier Kirti Kulhari Is the Only Best Thing in the film, She has done a great job and she looks very intense and very angry from the typical society, You would never see Sasa smiling in the whole film, her dialogue delivery was intense and she has played the role of a strong feminist very beautifully. Rajan Modi who is playing the role of Arshi’s father was also good, he fits perfectly in the role of a very possessive father, and the way he had shown his mood swings, that was amazing.
Nivedita Bhattacharya is also good in the role of Arishi’s mother, her dialogues were so deep that it will provoke the viewers so much, she looks hurt, Sensible, caring and a typical wife at the same time, she gets herself stuck between father and daughter most of the times. The rest of the actors were good, Kay Kay Menon cameo was decent.
Analysis
We had already seen films like this and I was expecting something different, the film is just another typical feminist film with a typical happy ending, the story is so simple and flat. The film goes very slow, the dialogues were good, the locations were decent and the music of the film was brilliant. The film goes very well for the first 30 minutes and it feels fresh and unique but after that, it turns out into a typical and predictable feminist saga. The climax of the film is very unreal. Except for some good performances, film has nothing much to offer.

Overall
I am going with 2 out of 5 stars for the film, the film is the same old and dull story on feminism and women empowerment that has a typical happy ending like the 90s. I was getting the vibes of Ja Simran Ja…Jee Le Apni Zindagi in the climax. The movie is available on Hotstar VIP and you can watch it with family, the film is approx 90 minutes long.
