Dexter Web Series Link To Delhi Case: The accused in the Delhi Murder case Afrab Poonawala who allegedly murdered his live-in partner and dismembered the body in 30 parts which he kept in the freezer and dumped the body parts one by one over the course of a couple of months.

The modus-operandi of the accused has been linked to an American TV Show called “Dexter”, so we thought we’d talk about that show and mention some similarities.

Dexter is based on the novel “Darkly Becoming Dexter” by Jeff Lindsay and tells the story of Dexter Morgan who is a forensic technician specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis and helps law enforcement during the day but at night, is a vigilante who hunts down the murderers who have not been punished adequately by the justice system. The methods that Dexter kills are planned with precision to the extent that he has a kill room which is a room that doesn’t leave any forensic evidence.

Dexter, in Season 1 used to dismember the bodies of his victims and then kept them in black poly bags and ultimately dumped them in the oceanic trench after he’d add rocks to the bags to weigh them down and seal them with duct tape.

Dexter had quite a good run when it used to air from 2006-2013 on SHOWTIME with each episode’s runtime close to 60 minutes.

Dexter sadly has garnered infamy with being linked to actual murders with the accused confessing that they were inspired by Dexter, the TV Show to an extent that in 2011, a Canadian Filmmaker Mark Andrew Twitchell was convicted of a murder where he lured the victim into his garage and then dismembered him. He used to the same method of keeping the body parts in poly bags and then dumping them into a storm sewer.

The media started to call him “Dexter Killer”. Similarly, in 2014 an American teenage boy was sent to prison for 25 years for murdering and dismembering his 17-year-old girlfriend. That boy was found to be obsessed with the TV show Dexter.
