‘From Scratch Real Life Story Netflix: There isn’t a shortage of romantic dramas and there’s always one waiting for you around the corner sometimes it is infused into other genres and it blends beautifully as well. The one that’s infused with tragedy is the real tear-jerker and it’s something that stays with us not because of the acting or the story.
True love is hard to come by and when it’s not there anyone when the other person dies or leaves a note for you before dying that’s what gets you the feels and that’s a true triumph for a romantic drama if its able to connect with you on a deeper level.
Netflix’s new romantic drama titled “From Scratch” starring Zoe Saldana and Eugenio Mastrandrea tells a similar story of a whirlwind romance that just sweeps you off the floor into a magical sky where all around its just love and passion of one towards the other person.
From Scratch is a special show and it has been creating waves for all the good reasons. Firstly, the story is what you must have heard previously. It goes like this, Amahle “Amy” Wheeler played by Zoe Saldana pauses her law degree and goes to Italy to study art and meets a Sicilian Chef Lino played by Eugenio Mastrandrea.
It isn’t until later that the pair falls in love passionately and we see a romance for the ages when Lino moves to the US for her and then the story progresses. Another reason is that the series is based on the life of author Tembi Locke’s real life and marriage which she wrote about in her best-selling memoir “From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home”.
Now, the story progresses and since the article started with tragedy in focus, that happens too. Her husband Lino gets diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare soft muscle tissue cancer and the couple tries to deal with that.
But what happens in real life, that’s what we’re curious about, right? Well, in the show, when Lino is diagnosed with cancer, he’s able to beat it with chemotherapy and surgery but cancer returns and spreads to his lungs. In real life, Tembi Locke’s husband Saro was also diagnosed with the same type of cancer in 2002 and eventually died in 2012.
“From Scratch” is a real tear-jerker and is available to stream on Netflix.
