Jorden Peele is famous for his fresh, dark, and horror-themed movies. After giving two back-to-back blockbusters like “Us” and “Get Out”, Peele is back with another newish and unique movie called “Nope”.
Released last week, Nope becomes Jorden Peele’s third movie to open at 1 worldwide. The movie has banked $44 million in its debut. The movie opened $10 million more than “Get Out” and $27 million less than “Us”.
If we see the last some of the years, we can conclude that Nope is the only original highest-opening weekend movie in recent years. Even Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio’s starrer “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” opened with $41 million which is clearly less than Nope.
We can make a guess that the reason Us opened big might be that Peele won the Oscars and the hype for the movie was noticeably bigger since the debut movie turned out to be an impressive one for Jorden Peele. The making of Nope has cost $68 million approx and as per the movie’s weekend performance, we can make a guess that this movie will take the tag of a hit movie. It surely is performing well.
Other movies such as Thor Love and Thunder, Minions: The Rise of Gru, etc are still running well and breathing their final breaths at the theatres.
