Dhootha Review: Naga Chaitanya’s much-awaited Amazon Prime Video original series ‘Dhootha’ is now streaming on Prime Video with a total of 8 episodes. All episodes are in the range of 40-45 minutes, and here goes a detailed review of the show. The series is not suitable to watch with kids as there are lots of brutal and gore sequences in the show.
The series stars Naga Chaitanya, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Prachi Desai in the main lead role. The show also stars Pasupathy, Ravindra Vijay, Tharun Bhascker, Raja Goutham, and others. The show is directed by Vikram K Kumar, who is known for films like 13B, Ishtam, and Thank You.
The story of the show revolves around Sagar Verma, who recently got appointed as the Editor-in-Chief for a newly launched newspaper ‘Samachar’. While returning from a party, he gets to see a newspaper cutting which mentions that his dog will die in a few minutes, and shockingly the same thing happens. After this incident, his life completely got changed. How his wife Priya and his PA Amrita get involved in all this, and how the police officer will investigate the case? To know all your answers, you need to watch the full series on Amazon Prime Video.
The best thing about the show is its direction and screenplay. It is almost evident that there is something related to the past that is haunting Sagar’s family, but the way the show has been presented is just mind-blowing. The music and the screenplay work well for the show, and the rain sequences throughout the show make it more dark and thrilling. The writing of the show is just mind-blowing, and it will stick in your head for a long time. I would also like to highlight the death sequences of the show. The death sequences are so chilling and terrifying that they will shock you from inside and may give nightmares.

Coming to the performances, this is surely one of the best performances of Naga till date. He was too good in the show emotionally and mentally. The whole show relies upon him, and he has nailed his character. One of the underestimated characters of the show is the Investigation officer character played by Parvathy Thiruvothu; she was good in the show, and her skill and the way of investigation leave a great impact on the show.
Prachi Desai, on the other hand, looks amazing as always, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, who is playing the role of Sagar’s wife. The rest of the characters from the show were equally good and brilliant.
I would also like to mention the performances by Pasupathy, Ravindra Vijay, and Tharun Bhascker, which gives a major boost to the series in every aspect. This is surely going to be a dream debut for Naga, as the show is going to be loved by audiences worldwide for sure.
Review: The Railway Men Review | Netflix
Jumping to the conclusion, I am going with 4 out of 5 stars for the show. The show is brilliantly written, and stunning performances by the actors keep you hooked till the end. Once again, I would like to mention the death sequences which can give anyone nightmares. The only issue with the show is its slow pace. The runtime is slightly long, and there is a lot to be done in terms of editing the show.
