Vinland Saga Season 2 Ep 1: The popular anime series Vinland Saga is back with season 2 after the great success of season 1. This series is based on the manga of the same name and is written by Makoto Yukimura, whereas this anime series is written by Hiroshi Seko along with Kenta Ihara and is directed by Shuhei Yabuta.
In this article, I am going to recap along with the ending explanation of the season 2 episode, which is titled “Slave.” In this season, we see more revenge and adventure than in season 1.
Recap
The first episode of the season begins with a young man in a forest attempting to cut a tree. We learn his name is Einar, and we see his sister and wife. He tells us that the village is now rebuilding after the last invasion, and he plans to help and protect people while exacting revenge on those who died in the previous fight, which we see in episode 1.
Later, we see that again the villagers are under attack, and they are burning the houses where they try to escape into the forest, where Einar tries to protect his family and others, where they take Lotta, but we see that she is killed during the attack. Einar is on a boat being sold into slavery when he notices attackers throwing dead women into the river.
On the other hand, we see that enslaved people are groomed for sale. Einar tries to flee and runs into the woods, where he steals food but is apprehended; after that, the slaver appears as a sign of another slaver, as he is beaten by the man so that no one tries to flee as Einar did. After that, they still want to sell Einar, and we see that no one is interested in buying him, so they leave me as the only one interested and Le as the only one wanting to buy him as a slave.
Ending Explained
In the end, we see that when Leif departs, that slaver man and his master arrived at a location where they discovered he was a farmer in northern England, and they invited him to join them in their work as farmers, and Einar agreed to work for them. After that, they take him to Kentil, where we see a beautiful farm where he was going to work as a farmer, and the episode ends.
