Vash Gujarati Movie Review: Vash, A New Gujarati Movie has made its way to the theatres this week, Led by Krishnadev Yagnik who has directed some of the groundbreaking Gujarati Movies who wrote and directed this movie along with the actors namely Hitu Kanodia, Janki Bodiwala, and Hiten Kumar.
The film is a story of a family, specifically, the girl Arya who in her 20s falls into the spell or is subjugated under a man’s spell the whole film revolves around when she’s under the spell and how that man starts to unravel his intentions with how the family responds is what the film is about.
Atharva is a family man who works as a Pilot and while he’s at home, the whole family of 4 (him, his wife, their younger son and their daughter Arya) plans to go to their family farm and enjoy for a couple of days. On their way to the farm, the family stops to eat at a Dhaba where they encounter a man named Prataap who seems very friendly at first but then his sudden arrival at their farm house leaves the family in turmoil after Arya, their daughter is found to be under the spell of that man and is following everything that he says and then starts the game.
The man has but only one goal, to take Arya from the family forever and what he wants is the family to him willingly as he starts to continuously torture them by making Arya do things. Does the family give in to the torture and what happens in the end, is what the film is about.
Review: At Midnight Movie Review | Paramount
The Film starts with a warning from the director that this film is not for the weak hearted and Pregnant Women or people suffering from heart diseases should refrain from watching it, well that stands very correct for this film. Vash, as the same suggests in the local Gujarati/Hindi lore, the name itself is enough to make you believe that this is going to be something different and the poster, with Janki in it confirms that doubt. The film is definitely for the faint of heart.
That being said, the film is about 2 hours long and it doesn’t waste any time in giving us the real treat. The film starts off with a story-building so we connect with the characters, especially Arya’s and how it moves forward with everything, well it takes that up a notch by like 1000 times.
The Psychological Element has been brilliantly used in the film and it keeps you guessing constantly, The writing is phenomenal and the cinematography along with the screenplay keeps you glued to the screen. The film doesn’t contain any songs so what you’re in, is a full 2-hour treat given you’re not a faint of heart.

Being a HUGE Psychological Horror Fanatic myself, this was an absolute treat to watch. The acting is superb and spot on. Janki Bodiwala has done a fantastic job along with Hitu Kanodia and Hiten Kumar. While the last two do not need any introduction as they are Dhollywood’s Superstars, but their arrival into the mainstream Gujarati Movies has been serving them well and us, with such brilliant performances.
Final Verdict: 4.5/5
“Vash Keeps You Guessing and has all the right elements to make it absolutely worth watching. I repeat again, it is not for the faint of heart.”
