Malayalam star Dulquer Salman is currently busy with his movie Hey Sinamika’s release. The movie has been receiving mixed to above-average reviews from critics. The film also stars Kajal Agarwal and Aditi Rao Haidari in lead roles. Touted to be a slice of life drama it hit the theatres yesterday.
Now exclusive news has come saying that Dulquer’s upcoming film Salute is opting out of a digital release. Salute is a crime thriller film being directed by Roshan Andrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay. Dulquer Salman plays the role of a cop in this movie. The film was initially set to release on the occasion of Pongal in January 2022 but it got postponed because of omicron. Now the team informed media houses that the film will stream soon on Sony LIV.
Well, this is not the first time Dulquer’s film is heading for a digital release. Prior to this Maniyarayile Ashoka too had a straight to digital release on Netflix. The cast of Salute also includes Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and so on. The movie was announced in May 2020 on the seventh anniversary of director Roshan Andrew’s movie Mumbai Police.

He announced that he would be teaming up with Dulquer Salman and Bobby and Sanjay being his regular collaboration. The shooting of the film commenced on 3 February 2021 in Kerela. Diana Penty was cast as the leading lady thus making her debut in Malayalam. The shooting happened in major locations like Trivandrum, New Delhi, Kasargode.
