HBO and BBC join a venture titled Rain Dogs which tells us the story of a mother-daughter duo going through life at its hardest where on one hand, Costello, the mother is trying to provide for her daughter and at the same time trying to write a book. The two go through the world in its not-so-positive outlook and we witness the mother trying to make it through life.

Costello and the photographer that she meets in Episode 2 have started getting closer to the point that she’s ready to have sex with him and Gloria seems to be motivating her to proceed with that. However, he takes Costello out to dinner only to jump inside a trash bin and find food in it and also encourages Costello to do the same.
On the other hand, Selby who has been out of the prison is met by his cellmate who protected him in the prison and now is asking for compensation in the form of 20,000 Pounds which Selby does not seem to have and has also asked his mother but she denies helping him like that. He meets Costello and the photographer guy on a date and then he takes the both of them to dinner where we get to know about Costello and Selby’s history and that they studied at the same University.
After the night doesn’t go as planned for Costello and the photographer, she wakes up to the photographer jerking off to her and she instantly throws him out. On the other hand, Iris who was getting bothered by her schoolmates about the interview that Costello did telling everyone that her mother is a whore, Gloria takes matters into her own hands and makes it worse for Iris and she’s now crying in her room hell-bent on not going back to that school.
Costello ends up finding a letter from her mother who she has been running away from for so many years and she tells Selby that she is now going away after his mother is forced to pay the prison cellmate and she throws him out. Selby knows the gravity of this situation and asks Costello and Iris to come with him so the three can live together and start a new life together to which Costello asks Iris and she agrees.
In the end of the episode, the three of them get inside a car and leave together.
