Folklore Horror is the sub-genre of Horror Films categories that you don’t often see a lot of movies being made in but when you do, it either creeps you out or you’re interested to know about that folklore since it’s a tradition or a story somewhere in the world. Its interesting and utterly creepy to witness things that are real and happen around the world, not ghosts or bad spirits which is a debatable topic.

There’s a new badass folklore film in town and its creeping people out, let it be the audience who mustered up the courage to go out to the theatres or the reviewers and that is “Men” starring Jessie Buckley (I’m Thinking Of Ending Things, The Lost Daughter), Rory Kinnear (Black Mirror S01E01, Our Flag Means Death).

Directed by Alex Garland who has also directed Ex-Machina, and Annihilation, he brings us to a story about a woman called Harper who after a personal tragedy wants to spend some alone time and goes off to the English Countryside and there, she notices something behind the woods that seems to be stalking her.

The interesting thing about the film is that everyone she meets in the English Countryside, all those men have been portrayed by Rory Kinnear and that is spotted in the trailer too, making the film creepier. Jessie Buckley has already done a horror film before and this seems to be working for her.

The film has got positive reviews from the audience and the critics for the story, cast, and sound design. The film was released in the US on 20th May 2022. No news about the OTT Release has been out now.

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
