Hunger Movie Review: The latest thriller drama is now streaming on Netflix in English and Thai languages with English subtitles. Directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri, the cast includes Nopachai Chaiyanam, Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, and other stars. The runtime of the movie is approximately 2.1 hours, written by Kongdej Jaturanrasamee, and the movie is rated TV-MA with a brief topless scene of a woman.

Here’s the review of the film. The movie is the story of a girl named Aoy, who is running a family restaurant with her father but gets an offer to join a very famous restaurant called “HUNGER,” whose head chef is Chef Paul.

The restaurant is very elite and prepares special meals for the richest people in the state. By giving a test on preparing fried rice, Aoy gets selected by the Chef, but she does not know the twists and turns she is going to face while working there. To know what happens next, you have to stream this movie on Netflix. The writing explores how the elite class exploits the workers and how their parties are organized. The movie is not just about food; it also shows us how the things we eat determine our class.

The direction is also good as we can feel a type of discomfort, tension, and pressure throughout the film. The performance by lead Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying is great, and we feel connected with her. All the other supporting actors and stars have done a decent job, and the movie’s dialogue writing is quite clever. In some scenes, the dialogue really feels so good. Overall, the movie is a good one-time watch if you want to explore this new genre or an Asian film.

However, the film has the potential to do great but failed to do so as it got distracted from its subject and ends as a mystery thriller rather than the elite exploiting the lower class. But I will give full marks for the character of Aoy, a well-written character, and the performance by the star steals the show.

Rating: 3/5
