  1. This is a great short series, the threads of the sorry line could lead to even greater things. Someone MUST write it, and soon.

Gemma Arterton is superb in Funny Woman. She is a highly talented and sadly underrated actor, whom I hope receives deserved recognition and accolade for her acting talents in this incredibly engaging and entertaining period comedy/drama. Her richly talented fellow- actors are equally as gifted, as well as being believable, engaging and very very funny! Some great writing, along with well-researched sixties architectural designs, clothes, hair, make-up, music, fabrics, furniture and huge dollops of an authentic sixties atmosphere. It took me right back to my childhood. My mother wore the glamorous beehive hair pieces and the flicked-edged feline eyeliner, along with the sexy mini skirts and white patent knee-length boots. This series was an absolute joy to watch. I’ve watched it 3 times now and will continue to dip in because I find it so engaging and so entertaining. I love all of the characters and the sixties music backdrop makes it all the more authentic and atmospheric. I just hope and pray that they make series 2 sharpish, so we can see Sophie Straw getting up to mischief with her amazing crew. ❀ loved it! More please.
