Collar Bomb Review: Hotstar original Direct To OTT release film collar Bomb released today on the platform, this was the third film in the segment of direct OTT release, previously Hotstar comes up with the films like The Big Bull, Dil Bechara, Khuda Hafiz, and Shadisthan released a few weeks back. I am going to talk about the positives and negatives of the film here.
The film stars Jimmy Shergill and Aasha Negi in the main lead role along with Naman Jain, Rajshree Deshpande, and Sparsh Srivastav in supporting roles, film is written by Nikhil Nayar and directed by Dnyanesh Zoning. The film is approx 90 Minutes and now available on Hotstar in Hindi audio along with the English subtitles. The film is suitable to watch with family.
The story of the film revolves around Manoj Hesi (Played By Shergill), Manoj Hesi, and His son Akshay (Played Naman Jain) were attending a Condolence meet of a schoolgirl who died a few days back. All of a sudden a suicide bomber enters the hall with a bomb attached to his caller. He asked Manoj to perform three tasks otherwise he will kill all of the hostages in the hall. When Manoj starts performing the tasks he feels that this case is connected to his past. How was this case related and what happens in the end, to know this you have to watch the full movie Hotstar.
Jimmy Shergill Never fails to impress us and he has done it again, he is amazing in the film, his expression, dialogue delivery, and everything was so perfect and calm that you can’t take your eyes off him. Asha Negi was equally good in the film, although I feel sometimes she struggles during the dialogue delivery, She is good with her expressions and she gains momentum from the middle of the film and it continues till the end. Rajshree Deshpande and Naman Jain were decent enough to watch. The rest of the characters from the film was also good. Overall, the film gives a good experience in terms of performance.
I was very disappointed with the plot of the film, the idea was decent, but the way it was executed, it was very bad. The screenplay is decent still, the movie goes off-track in the middle. There are many illogical scenes in the film which make no sense at all and these incidents were almost impossible in the real life. When you are making a thriller film, You must try to make the thing as real as possible. Haseen Dillruba was the same, there were many illogical scenes in the film, and the climax was so weird. The location of Collar Bomb was decent, the movie is mainly shot in an indoor location, so there is nothing much to show. The music of the film was decent.
I am going with 2.5 out of 5 stars for the film, You can watch the film for Asha Negi and Jimmy Shergill. The film is not a top-notch thriller, but performances and its short duration make it a one-time Watch. You can watch the film on Hostatr and the film is family-friendly.
